Hotel Vritomartis Chora Sfakia, Crete, Greece

The Hotel Vritomartis (Naturist Hotel) is just 2 km from the coastal resort village of Chora Sfakia which is situated on the southern coast of Crete. The hotel is open during the summer months from the start of May until the end of October.

Vritomartis Hotel took its name from an ancient Minoan goddess worshipped in the area. The hotel is located in the region of Sfakia on the South coast of Crete, near the village of Hora Sfakion. This region is one of the most spectacular and unspoilt coastal area of Crete.

The hotel is built in a traditional Greek style and situated on a promontory overlooking the South Cretan sea. The spectacular range of the White Mountains rises to a height of over 2000 metres to the North. Vritomartis Hotel combines modern facilities with traditional Cretan style, comfort and simplicity and has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities.

Our resort is a licensed naturist resort and broadly follows the guidelines laid down by the International Naturist Federation: none of the indoors areas of the hotel are naturist whilst all the outside areas are naturist from sunrise to sunset (except the road to the beach so as not to offend local sensitivities). Naturism is required by the pool and on the beach.

Vritomartis hotel has 180 beds in 85 beautifully appointed rooms, of which 42 are located on two floors in the main building and 43 in 9 separate bungalows. All the rooms in the main building have air-conditioning.

Room type 1 2 beds room with bathroom, balcony and sea view. Room type 2 2 beds room with bathroom, balcony and mountain view. Room type 3 2 - 3 persons, double bed + couch bed with bathroom, large balcony and sea view. Room type 4 single room with double bed, bathroom and balcony, mountain view. Room type 5 3 - 5 persons, double bed room and room with 2 single beds and sleeping couch, bathroom, balcony and sea view.

Bungalow type 1 2 - 4 persons, ground floor, 2 single beds or double bed, sleeping space for an additional 1 - 2 persons, bathroom, terrace with sea view. Bungalow type 2 2 - 3 persons, first floor, 2 single beds, additional sleeping space for one person, bathroom, sea side terrace. Bungalow type 3 2 - 4 persons, 2 single beds and one double bed, bathroom, 2 - 3 terraces with sea, garden and mountain view.

The 25 metres swimming pool, a children's pool and small playground, set in a garden with sea and mountain views are the central point around which the hotel and bungalows are situated. There are sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and plenty of shade, as well as a pool-bar that serves a wide variety of beverages and snacks. The area of the swimmingpool is a designated naturist area.

Within easy walking distance of the hotel area you can find a series of beautiful quiet beaches: Amoudi, 300m away has white marble pebbles. Filaki, the main beach 700m away has fine pebbles and crystal-clear water. There is a snack bar operated by the hotel, umbrellas and sunbeds. Canoes can also be rented. The beach has unusual cliffs and caves formations which also provide plenty of shade.
